Today she had her 2 month Doctors visit, She is 22.5 inches and 8lbs and 9 ounces.
She had three shots today and took the AMBUSH like a champ!
Although she's a bit upset with me now, i hope she'll soon forget the whole ordeal .. til her 4th month visit!

Here are some hightlights from Anthony and Rebecca's suprise visit from London to see Kazie for the first time! We took the boat to Historic Alexandria for a family lunch. Poor Matt- he was working and couldn't make it

September 21 07, Finalisation Week!

So much has happened, and i am sorry.. having trouble up loading pics to display.
First we had Greg and Leigh arrive back in the USA with their daughter Meti from Ethiopia. We had a VERY American dining experience at Friday's with Meti; where she had a very American MAC & CHEESE kids's meal.
On Sept 13, My parents had planned an Anniversary dinner at our DACOR bacon House (where we were married in 03) . When they arrived, Judge Mencher was not with them as expected. What should have been a "tip off" was that the table was set for 6 and we expected 5, and now only 4 with out the Judge. My dad walks in and apologises that the Judge can't make it and instead says that he met a nice enough couple just outside and decided to invite them instead! I was so baffled; and then in walks ANTHONY and BECS all the way from London!!
They had landed that afternoon at 4pm and just barely made our dinner at 645pm!
We got PUNKED!
WHAT a pure suprise and a perfect treat.

In fact, the entire weekend could not have been more perfect! We took an after-dinner tour of the White House and went up to the roof top of the Hotel Washington for the view! It was Becs' first trip to DC so we had a blast. The next day we caught the Miss Mallory ( a water taxi) from the DC waterfront to Alexandria!
So now we can officially say that Kazie has been on Planes, Trains ( metro), Automobiles and Boats.. and she has been in Kansas, MO, DC, VA, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania! She even hit the Palm for dinner last night!
Susan, our neighbor hosted a wonderful party on Sunday night for Kazie and so many friends made greats efforts to be there...Anthony, Becs, Eileen and Jack were the guests of honor- as they were the big travellers!
i wish i could post picture; she is getting little rolls and her face is so roundy!

The Kershners are coming Home from Africa with Meti!

We heard wonderful news from Greg and Leigh Kershner... they are returning from Addis Ababa one week earlier than expected! The American Embassy must have expedited their papers; and they land at Dulles on Saturday! Matt and I have the honor of meeting Meti during their layover! She's already eighteen months old and is adorable in all her pictures!

Yesterday, Julie from my soccer team came over with her little daughter Laney. I will try and upload some shots from her visit! It was a treat; we had a stroll to Turtle Park as well!

Today is our 4th anniversary. Matt had flowers ( for me) and a teddy bear (presumeably for Kathleen) delivered to us from his job in the Carolina's! How sweet!

Kazie's first Labor Day; and boy!.. was she laboring!

Here's my girl in her stroller at Neisha Thai up the street! We walked there with our friends Leigh and Greg from ATL who had a layover in DC! They stopped over for 6 hours to see us on their way to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to bring home their newest member of their family; Meti!!!!

It was so wonderful to see them and we feel even MORE of a part of their adoption journey than ever!



Here is a shot of Zara with Karina Ford!!! That is Tom and Ainur's sweetest little daughter just before they left for Booth Bay Harbor Maine! We were giggling so much while trying to take the snap! Kazie was leaning on Karina and Karina was just too polite to complain!
Matt is in the Carolina's and we (the ladies of leisure) are at home, and just returned from a terrific BBQ at Granny and Grandpa Zarr's house!

Tomorrow is Zara's one month Birthday!!

Last night, my parents and I took here on her first DC Metro ride from Tenley Town Metro to Dupont Circle for Greek Food! We all learned where all the elevators were and it was DC from another perspective that is sure! She is doing great and slept from Midnight to 430am last night; must have been the exciting Zorba's restaurant scene!

24 days old!!! What a trooper!

Here's Ashley just fresh back from Vietnam, Ashley dubbed her the daintiest baby she's ever seen- it's those long slender fingers! ;-) but, not for long!

What a lucky thing! She's less than a month old and recieves fancy flowers all the way from Uncle Anthony and Becs in London! Zara even recieved gorgeous cards & little packages from North Wales, and Holland; it's all so exciting. She loves her international fans!

We also just saw Hoyt on his way to Montana from Thess, Greece! What a treat that was; Zara showed off her tumbling exercises!

Mary Rose is still with us and what a wonderful gift she is giving mommy (me). The gift of sleep!

Zara loves her Visitors!!!

Jean and Mj Weiner visited, just back from Portugal with their two cutie kiddies Tiago and Bridgette! Danny & Carolyn came over with pizza to boot! Debbie Fox and Art came to visit-- Katie Zara's first Palm visitors!

She's just got to be over 6lbs by now!!!!

She's been reading quite heavily and as you can see really paying proper attention to Mary Rose - the page turner!
She has even graduated to ordering from mommy's favorite catologues!!! Fortunately, all her money is stashed away in her piggy bank; so no actual shopping sprees!

A few days ago, we went out to Laurel Md, to meet up with Chrissy and her son Te (Devonte) since she happend to be in the area on her Military Leave! We had a brief, but nice dinner. She seemed really happy and that made us happy too. Chrissy was on her was to Baltimore to see friends and then off to Frederick to pick up her mom. We just got a call today that she arrive safely back on post in Ft Leavenworth. We were glad to hear she made the 1000 mile drive home with no worries!

August 15th! She's up to a record 5lbs 14 ounces!

We had a lovely pool day with Katie Zara. She loved dining al fresco too!

Whne we got home, she recieved flowers from Uncle Anthony and Becs all the way from London! She was impressed i could tell!

Visitors on August 13th!

Carolyn was feeding her, then Mike and Lauren Burped her, then she was resting with Charlotte and Belle, then more feeding with Greg and Renee. The a few tumbling exercises!

Tomorrow is her 2 week Doctor's visit, we hope she surpasses 6 lbs! Keep chugging little Zara!
