Holland, Hilversum, Windmills- lots to write about!
After a quickie flight, there was Aisha- patiently waiting for us at Amsterdam Schipol's airport. She drove us back to her place and we had quite an evening getting caught up and feeding Zara. It was late night, as we were also packing to travel north to stay in our log cabins on a winery! We also had to make sure Aisha made it on time to an important Doctors visit before leaving town and we luckily had time to visit her place of Rehab!! It was there that we saw Aisha's handiwork as an artist. She has been painting Zara's portrait as a surprise- and it was a huge surprise! I shall ask Aisha to send me an updated photo of her unfinished artwork so that i may post it here for you all to see before i end the blog! What a treat it was to see first hand, i can tell you that!
Kathleen Zara arrived into this world on July 30, 07. Matt, Mary Rose (Matt's 16 year old sister)and I were all in Ft. Leavenworth Kansas waiting for her at St John's Hospital. Along with Zara's birth mother Chrissie and half brother Devonte, we enjoyed ourselves; getting to know each other better! Chrissie's labor was about 10 hours long and suddenly Zara was here! A few hectic & thrilling days later, on August 5th, Zara boarded her first plane home to Washington DC with her mommy and daddy! Chrissie is in Cuba with the US Army and Devonte is on base with his grandmother, Penny, in Kansas waiting for her return. We speak often and we are forever thankful to each other.
