Ijsselmeer, 30 kilometer dike
30 kilometers long, with sweet/ fresh water on the south and the sea on the north side. The wind was crazy and there were tourists speaking all languages at this geographic/engineering triumph. People biked, hike and walk over it just for the experience.
We had a delicious breakfast prepared by Hugo, Aisha's brother in law and we gathered Kiara and brought her back to the vineyard to spend some play time with Zara.
Kathleen Zara arrived into this world on July 30, 07. Matt, Mary Rose (Matt's 16 year old sister)and I were all in Ft. Leavenworth Kansas waiting for her at St John's Hospital. Along with Zara's birth mother Chrissie and half brother Devonte, we enjoyed ourselves; getting to know each other better! Chrissie's labor was about 10 hours long and suddenly Zara was here! A few hectic & thrilling days later, on August 5th, Zara boarded her first plane home to Washington DC with her mommy and daddy! Chrissie is in Cuba with the US Army and Devonte is on base with his grandmother, Penny, in Kansas waiting for her return. We speak often and we are forever thankful to each other.
